| Inflammatory breast cancer |
Rare form of invasive breast cancer that affects the blood vessels in the skin of the breast, causing the breast to become red and inflamed |
| Intervention group |
The group of patients in a clinical trial that receive the test treatment or approach to care |
| Intraperitoneal chemotherapy |
A way of delivering chemotherapy drugs directly into the abdominal cavity (the space between the abdominal organs and the abdominal muscle) |
| Intravenous chemotherapy |
A way of giving chemotherapy into the bloodstream through a vein |
| Intravenous infusion |
A way of delivering fluids, including drugs, into the bloodstream through a cannula or needle |
| Invasive breast cancer |
Breast cancer that has spread beyond the ducts or lobules of the breast into the breast tissue and/or other parts of the body |
| Invasive cancer |
Cancer that has spread from the original site into surrounding healthy tissue |
| Invasive ductal carcinoma |
Invasive breast cancer that starts in the ducts of the breast |
| Invasive lobular carcinoma |
Invasive breast cancer that starts in the lobules of the breast |
