Standard of care for breast diagnostic services

E-mail Print PDF Site Map

National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre has developed an online tool to assist breast diagnostic services to self-assess their practices against the NBOCC standard of care. The tool enables services to incorporate a risk management framework which supports ongoing quality improvement.

All facilities offering the triple test as part of the one episode of service are invited to participate in this quality improvement activity.

Services who complete the online tool will receive a summary report of their performance. The report can provide the basis for a quality improvement framework.

All information provided as part of completing the online self-assessment tool will remain confidential. NBOCC will not publish or make available individual service information.

NBOCC’s standard of care for breast diagnostic services has been mapped to the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) accreditation program Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program 4th edition (EQuIP 4). Services registered with the ACHS EQuIP4 program can cross reference the standard of care for breast diagnostic services.

Before accessing the online tool, you are encouraged to download and look through a hard copy of the online tool, and instructions prior to commencing entry of your service data into the survey.
