Revised guide for women with early breast cancer available 1 March
NBOCC's eagerly anticipated revised Guide for women with early breast cancer will be available to order online from 1 March. The Guide is currently available to download online.

It also describes some of the physical and emotional changes that may be experienced by younger women with ovarian cancer and offers some practical suggestions for coping with these changes.
The resource was developed by a multidisciplinary working group chaired by Professor Martha Hickey from University of Western Australia.

New resource to promote the appropriate referral of women with ovarian cancer
NBOCC has developed a new resource to promote appropriate referral of women with symptoms that may be due to ovarian cancer. Titled Appropriate referral of women with suspected ovarian cancer, the easy-to-use guide incorporates the Risk of Malignancy Index to assist clinicians in identifying those women who should be referred to a gynaecological oncologist for further investigation. Evidence shows survival for women with ovarian cancer is improved when their surgical care is directed by a gynaecological oncologist.
The resource also provides an overview of other tests required upon further investigation of ovarian cancer symptoms, including the serum CA125 test and a transvaginal ultrasound.
The resource is available to download as PDF document from the NBOCC website. For more information about the resource, please contact Katie Rampling (Ph: 02 9357 9409).
