Seeding grant recipients awarded in June 2009

The Polo Ralph Lauren Pink Pony Campaign received many applications for seeding grants in 2009 from a diverse range of community groups across Australia.

The successful seeding grant recipients for 2009 are:

  • Barossa Area Fundraisers for Cancer (SA) to establish the Breast Cancer Home Assist Program for women undergoing treatment for breast cancer to help with duties such as cleaning, cooking and yard maintenance during their treatment.
  • Colac Area Health (Vic) to develop a comprehensive, up-to-date Community Resource Library to provide easily accessible and reliable information about all aspects of breast cancer treatment for local women.
  • Kerang District Health (Vic) to provide a Wig and Hat Library to improve access to hats, wigs and headwear for local women undergoing breast cancer treatment.
  • Lismore and District Women's Health Centre (NSW) to establish the Refresh program that will develop information resources about the benefits of lymphatic drainage massage for women with breast cancer and provide local women with access to trained lymphoedema practitioners.
  • North Coast Area Health Service (NSW) to conduct a seminar, Working out my next move- beyond breast cancer, to encourage local women to pursue a healthy lifestyle following a diagnosis of breast cancer.
  • The Wellness Foundation (NSW) to establish the Lymphoedema support for the Central West program to improve access to information on lymphoedema including treatment and support services.
